If you are ever wondering which team do most students support, this is very difficult to say. It actually doesn’t split evenly or is it bias to either of the team. It really depends where they come from. Generally most Mancunian (people from Manchester) students will support Manchester City. This is true for the non-students Mancunians as well. However, a lot of the students either come from different parts of the country or overseas, there are also quite a huge amount of Manchester United fans around. If you are an international student, most will support Manchester United since they are more popular internationally.
Most students will be open to debate about this, but if you ever get into one of this conversation, prepare for it to last for quite awhile. Not forgetting, Greater Manchester also include other Premiership teams such as Bolton and Wigan. As mentioned earlier, most Mancunian will either support Manchester city or the other teams such as Bolton or Wigan, and neighbouring Blackburn Rovers. However, you will still get a few minority who will be Manchester United fans. So you won’t be disappointed if you are a United fan.
